Hello, I'm TisStrangerEerierAndPreposterousUsername on AO3, and this is my General Exchange Letter.
This letter was cobbled together from my Generic Exchange Letter on Dreamwidth, my Yuletide 2024 letter, and my CIEX 2024 letter. It should cover most everything I can think of, but the gist is this: have fun! XD You don't need to constrain yourself to my letter or my optional details in my request(s): If you have an idea you want to write for me, then as long as it doesn't go against my DNWs (which may differ slightly from request to request), go wild! <3
Enjoy yourself and the story you're tellingâlet's have a good time together! XD
Please see the following links for some quick navigation around this letter:

A Note on My DNWs
- Assuming I haven't messed with my DNWs for the exchange you're coming from, I DNW âbittersweet/bad/sad/tragic/melancholy endingâ and to put that in context, it just means the requested characters shouldnât be dead, miserable, brooding, full of angst and fear and despair etc. at the end. I am perfectly happy with a âtwisted but happy endingâ in which, for example, the characters are corrupted and turn into murderers and go on a killing spree at the end, as long as theyâre happy. Like, to put it simply, I want my blorbosâ happy at the end; itâs fine if everyone else dies, LOL.
- That said, I do love happy endings! XD
- Happy ending to me means the requested characters are happy and having a good time! It doesnât mean they have to have a conventional healthy relationship, LMAO. If you have any questions about my DNWs, donât hesitate to ask the mods to relay them to me đ
- (So this means perma-death is off the table, but temporary death is a-okay)
- For the 'gender swaps/changes & gender dysphoriaâ DNW, Iâm fine with characters being trans as long as theyâre still the same gender as they are in canon. A guy is a guy is a guy, I donât consider that to be a gender changeâbut if going with a trans character, I still do not want any gender dysphoria!
- âbetrayal of trust (between endgame couple)â mutually corrupting/manipulating each other is fine though, and not against this DNW.
- âinfidelity (between endgame couple)â consensual poly situations does not count as infidelity.
- âunderage non-con | unrequested underage shipsâ references to off-screen canonical events is okay, but nothing onscreen or explicit, thanks.
- âloss of limbs (including tongue) | eye/nail trauma | teeth loss/traumaâ this means donât damage/pull/cut anything off and donât make any references to even canonical teeth stuff, thanks.
- 'incest' Pseudo-incest is okay; things like step-siblings, adopted relationships, and the like. Rule of thumb: no blood relations and weren't raised as family. So for example non-blood related batfam pairings like Tim/Jason, Jason/Bruce etc. is okay!
- Note that for some requests I don't DNW this, and that's usually because the request is actually incest in some capacity. I still don't want unrequested incest.
General Dislikes & Pet Peeves
- forgiveness without accountability
- misunderstandings that don't get solved
- second-hand embarrassment
General Likes
My tastes run varied and wild; I like domestic fluff and some crack treated seriously just as much as I do angsty fics that tear my heart out (provided they heal it again, LOL); I'm just as much up for dark romance (as long as it adheres to my DNWs) as I am a fluffy lighthearted, heartwarming romance; terrible characters doing terrible things and also being in love (with potentially less terrible people?) is fun, good people willing to commit murder when their lines are crossed is fun, a cozy walk under the starlight is fun! A lot of things is fun!
I'm always up for some lore/worldbuilding, and I have a perpetual tendency to get attached to characters the narrative don't want/expect me to like. I'm always down for explorations and what-ifs for them!
In general, I like it when things are mutual. Characters mutually manipulating each other is good, mutual pining is good, mutual obsession, mutual protectiveness, etc. are all good. I like characters enjoying each other presence, knowing each other and supporting each other, and appreciating each other, even if the things they appreciate are superb murder skills, lol.
I like worldbuiling, character studies, crack treated seriously. Taking a silly concept and running it to the most serious conclusion. Logistical worldbuilding like laws, and transportation, and agriculture and production lines. Digging into the setting, so to speak.
I like monsters and aliens and unexpectedly sentient creatures in love. I like morally ambiguous/immoral characters in love, I like loyalty and devotion and characters sticking by each other. I like characters getting out of bad situations and choosing, perhaps, to not forgive somebody who's hurt them. I like characters moving on, and healing, and finding joy.
I like characters overcoming setbacks, and learning how to deal/live with setbacks they don't/can't overcome, i.e. chronic illness, permanent/long-term disability etc. I like characters making the best of things, in apocalyptic settings and so on. Sometimes things can't be fixed, and that's okay. (But also sometimes things can be fixed, and that's okay, too (i.e. fix-it fics, lol).)

Smut
I'm cool with anything from no smut, to fade to black, to extremely explicit smut. I don't particularly care about the sex itself; it's the emotions that do it for me. It can be super kinky, it can be super vanilla; I want pining, tension, enjoyment, love, etc. They don't have to be exclusively good feelings; trepidation, fear, desperation, etc. are all good too, but if there's gonna be smut I want something beyond sex for the sake of sex.
In general, I like it when the characters enjoy the smut, tooâwhether that's reluctantly, enthusiastically, begrudgingly, didn't-think-they-would-but-is-actually-really-into-this, etc. Dubcon is okayâto put a line to it, the dubcon shouldn't be completely unenjoyed by the one being dubconned, and they shouldn't like, feel gross afterward. Under/non-negotiated kink is okay.
I like intimacy, emotional and physical, and I like characters wanting to make each other feel good. I like it when there's trust in the smut, and worldbuilding, and character studies.
I'm cool with asexual characters enjoying sex, or trying it out and figuring out they don't enjoy it, however the dice falls. I absolutely do not want acephobia in ace smut.
More specific stuff thatâs okay (but you donât need to stick to this):
dom/sub ⢠bondage ⢠cockwarming ⢠manhandling ⢠rough sex ⢠soft/gentle/tender sex ⢠enthusiastic consent ⢠monsterfucking ⢠competence kink ⢠loyalty kink ⢠orgasm denial/control ⢠possessiveness ⢠size kink ⢠bigger (and/or more powerful (physically/politically/financially etc.) bottom/smaller (and/or less powerful (physically/politically/financially etc.) top ⢠sex with feelings ⢠smut with worldbuilding/character studies ⢠physical/emotional intimacy ⢠safe sane and consensual ⢠Consensual But Not Safe Or Sane ⢠collars ⢠dirty talk ⢠breath play ⢠objectification ⢠blindfolds ⢠humiliation ⢠punishment ⢠aftercare ⢠feminizationDark Content
A couple of the fandoms I request sometimes are pretty dark, canonically. I want to assure you that I'm very much a-okay with canon-typical fucked up content/relationships, including "problematic" onesâbarring anything that falls under my DNWs. To put it simply, my DNWs override canon events. By this I am primarily referring to teeth stuffâI DNW teeth trauma/loss; it is, not overstating it, my biggest DNW. And I know it canonically happens in some of the fandoms I'm requesting! But please, don't even reference it.
Now, on more general lines; I have no problems with unhealthy dynamics, unhealthy relationships, problematic pairings, etc. When I DNW unhappy endings etc. I just mean that the main character shouldn't be dead, miserable, unhappy, brooding, wallowing in regret etc. at the end. I want my main character/pairing happy! But everybody else can die for all I care, LOL.
It's perfectly fine for it to be a fucked up happy ending, too. Like the MC embracing being murder husbands and going off on a road-trip killing spree with their lover; I'm sure lots of other characters will be very unhappy about that, but I only care about my blorbos, sorry.
Dark Romance/Erotica Tropes I'm Definitely OK With, If You Want To Go There:
Abduction/Kidnapping ⢠Sex Auction ⢠Stalking ⢠Obsession ⢠Psychopaths/Sociopaths in Love ⢠Murder Husbands ⢠Forced Relationship ⢠Blackmail ⢠Power Imbalance/Dynamics ⢠(Mutual) Obsession ⢠Codependency ⢠Twisted & Fluffy Feelings ⢠CorruptionThat said; just because it's a darker canon doesn't mean I wouldn't also low a fluffy, lighthearted, wholesome, etc. fic for it. Canon-divergence! What-ifs! For want of a nail! They're just super happy and together and have a healthy relationship, and you know, also kill people if that makes 'em happy! XD
Gore & Violence
I'm okay with violence, but I don't want graphic depictions of gore. Blood is cool, have fun punching each other, sword fights, guns, etc. all good, but I don't want detailed descriptions of brain matter and guts; and also no teeth stuff. Like, it's okay for a character to get tortured but I don't want torture porn and I'm not interested in a steb-by-step description of the torture.
Relevant DNWs: teeth loss/trauma, nail & eye trauma, loss of limbs (this includes tongue) (it also includes partial limb loss).
Noncon/Dubcon
While I DNW underage noncon, I don't do a blanket DNW for this. That said, when if doing an xcon fic, I do prefer it to be (just) between the requested characters, because that's who I'm requesting; I'm not interested in other characters taking the focus. Especially as my preferred type of xcon is the xcon-to-con pipeline, lol, and I'd love the characters to have hope of a functional, if unhealthy, relationship at the end.
I'm not interested in 'realistic' noncon, is what I'm saying.
I like xcon because I don't like sex for the sake of sex. Iâm the kind of ace that just donât get that and xcon, by the nature of the beast, tends to lend itself very well to lots of Emotionsâ˘ď¸ with the smut. It feels a little bit weird to say I read erotica for the Feelingsâ˘ď¸ but Iâm serious; I like my smut with plot and character/relationship studies, with world-buildng and scheming and characters who are doing something for a reason, whether itâs out of duty, for their own sadistic pleasure, or just because theyâre super smitten.
Weather itâs positive or negative emotions is just as cool; fear, trepidation, eagerness, anticipationâI just crave something I can dig my teeth into, you know.
I probably have a preference for dubcon over noncon, but thatâs just because I do want my requested characters to be happy at the end. Any path there is a-okay: noncon â> dubcon â> con, dubcon â> con, noncon â> con, con â> dubcon â> con, etcetera. Go wild!
For noncon, I do prefer the eroticized noncon kind; if it's just, 'oh no this is so traumatic and gross and fucked up and shitty and horrible' then like I'm not intersted in that, LOL. For any kind of xcon, tropes that make my brain go brrrr is stuff like blackmail, forced relationship, warprize, out of duty, debt, as a tactic for a mission, trying to manipulate somebody, etcetera.
I want that inner conflict, that 'duty vs self(care)', that corruption, that 'dragging somebody else to your level', that 'in over your head and thereâs no way out but further in', that 'really picked the wrong person to honeypot', etc., kind of vibes. Emotions! Manipulation! Corruption! But like, mutuallyâeventually! It doesnât have to start that way, but I would love the requested characters to just kind of grow into each other, find that compromise, figure out how to be happy together, even if they have to break each other a bit first, LMAO.
